After many years of working as a delivery cyclist, I decided to retrain, studying with the RHS to obtain a level 2 certificate in the principles of plant growth and development. The goal was to turn two of my most treasured interests, gardening and wildlife, into a career. Thus, Two Wheel Gardener was born!
I learnt that private gardens cover roughly as much land as all the UK's national parks combined, and stretch across a much wider area. This has the potential to provide a network of microhabitats which wildlife can use to move across our landscape. I believe this vision is easily compatible with the concept of a functional and pleasant garden.
Primarily, I aim to help create garden spaces which my customers will enjoy - whether this comprises of stunning summer blooms, a productive vegetable patch, or a simple and practical space to spend time outdoors.
I am also committed to gardening in a sustainable manner that supports the UK's wildlife, using materials and tools which tread as lightly as possible on our biodiversity. I believe that a garden which supports a thriving community of wildlife can be both more relaxing and engaging.
After working as a bicycle courier for many years, it became apparent to me just how practical a bike can be. Many of the everyday tasks we do can be achieved using one as transport, reducing the amount of car journeys. This not only makes our cities and towns safer, cleaner, and more pleasant to be in, but also reduces carbon emissions and keeps us healthier. Because of this, it became my goal to create a business based around a bicycle.
